Grizzly Bear

Grizzly BearEvery now and then I consider starting a new mp3 blog called something like "The Lazy Reviewer" in which I post an mp3 I like and make the laziest comparison possible that would still peak the interest of you, the gentle reader. I've been listening to Grizzly Bear tonight, and it's made me very sleepy. So I think now is a fine time to break out The Lazy Reviewer.

Grizzly Bear is what would happen if Elliot Smith and Phil Elvrum (of the Microphones / Mt. Eerie) went off and became recluses in the Pacific Northwest and made an album together.

  1. this song sounds nothing like elliot smith, or really microphones either to me. imean maybeeee far off it does, but to me i hear beach boys. whatever you or i, or i or you and me and everyone hears I think this is pretty fucking good. does this mean the whole album has leaked?

  2. A lot of people have made the Grizzly Bear / Beach Boys comparison but I just don't see it very much, and I see the Beach Boys in almost everything. Regardless, it is indeed good. I've, uh, heard rumors that Yellow House has indeed leaked. It comes out officially Sept. 5 on Warp.
