Napster is now (kind of) free (again)
So remember back in the day how you could download whatever you wanted in your dorm room's T1 line? Napster very nearly flunked me out of college. And I will forever be grateful to them for that. Fast forward a couple of years. In a desperate move to gain some ground on iTunes, they are are allowing you to listen to every song in their catalog 5 times before you have to buy it. Plus they have some nice little features like internet links, so I can link to Captain & Tennille all I want on my blog. Also, their free player is Flash based, so it works just as nice on a Mac as a PC. And I didn't have to give them any credit card info to register. Really, I can't imagine how they could have done this better. Kudos to you, big megacorp that bought the dead Napster brand.

i'm pretty sure you listened to captain and tennille five times already last night. it was horrible for me you know. i'm going to listen to ani difranco AT LEAST five times tonight for payback.
