There is a new documentary out about the Flaming Lips out called Fearless Freaks, and it has a ton of live performances on it (obviously). Being the gentle giants of rock and roll that they are, they've made a free bootleg cd for all of us to enjoy, and put it up on the internet here. The cd is 7 live songs from various stages of their career, from noise punks to the psych balladeers they are today. Here is what Wayne Coyne has to say about it:
"Now this CD is meant as a bootleg give-away that will be presented to all those who attend the first showing of Bradley's spectacular documentary film, The Fearless Freaks. This film follows the life and times of Steven, Michael, and myself. There's lots of embarrassing clips of us with weird haircuts, and bad clothes, and though this CD has a very limited run of only a few hundred, all who can are urged to copy it and put it on the Internet and do whatever you can do with it. Please, please do not pay hard-earned money for it."
I love the Flaming Lips.
It channels that money into the Bruins somewhat. We'd prefer to have the Celtics, for sure, [but] we've seen higher prices than last year of course since they're coming off the Cup. Bruins fans are more excited than they have been in years.
